Der Freischütz by Carl Maria von Weber has often been thought as the first notable German romantic opera. Many of the opera’s themes have been inspired by German folk music and in the concert will be hard the ouverture from this work. Antti Siirala is well known for his interpretations of Beethoven’s music and this time he plays the Piano Concerto No. 3. In the concert, conducted by Giordano Bellincampi, is heard also the Symphony No. 4 by Robert Schumann.
