DESCRIPTION
The new Chief Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic, Emmanuel Villaume, conducts Brahms´ last symphony and one of Francis Poulenc´s later works. Brahms´s 4th Symphony originated at a time when the composer became aware of the irreversibility of the end of his life and artistic path. Poulenc´s Gloria is full of joy, but, as a part of the composer´s liturgical works, also represents his more serious side.
