One of the most poetic and moving piano works of the 19th century, Schumann´s Piano Concerto in A minor, contains everything we adore and admire about Schumann: fervid melodies, daring rhythms, a wealth of ideas and clear form construction. Listen to it as played by the young pianist, Herbert Schuch, artist-in residence of the Salzburg Festspielhaus.
Even though piano compositions form the main part of Scriabin´s works, his orchestral works, climaxing in the Third Symphony in C minor “The Divine Poem“, are a fascinating experience. The three movements, titled Struggles, Delights, Divine Play flow like an ecstatic wave of music.
The Slovak Philharmonic is conducted by Aleksander Marković.
