Stravinsky: Symphonies of Wind Instruments
Lindberg: Helikon Wasp
Brahms: Serenade No. 1
Christian Lindberg, conductor Christian Lindberg, trombone
DESCRIPTION
Christian Lindberg has on a previous occasion astounded his Lahti audience with his virtuosic handling of the trombone. He is also well known as a conductor and composer, and this time he combines all three roles. The title of Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony of Wind Instruments uses the word ‘symphony’ in its original meaning of ‘playing together’. The concert ends with the Serenade No. 1 originally written as a String Octet by Johannes Brahms.
