DESCRIPTION

Many have long been asking to hear Finland’s star soprano Soile Isokoski at an LSO concert. Their wishes will now be rewarded as she sings a selection of Lieder by Richard Strauss. Also on the programme for the spring’s opening concert conducted by Okko Kamu is the Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky, an all-time favourite. The first item is the Overture to Prince Igor, the opera by Borodin premiered in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
